RSDSimulateHave you ever been handed a predefined layout and harness routing and tasked with designing the interconnect between the power supply and an LRU, to ensure the voltage at the LRU input remains within tolerance over the full range of operational conditions?
RSDSimulate, the Spice+ based electrical wire harness simulator from Virtual Interconnect, allows you to iterate your designs, quickly and efficiently using accurate component models of industry standard parts to determine the optimum combination of terminals and wire for your critical system requirements.
RSDSimulate is launched and operated entirely within the Pro/ENGINEER(r) Routed Systems Designer(tm) environment, automatically extracting relevant circuit parameters from the RSD component models, including terminal and fiber impedance, before running the simulation and presenting the results.
Fully integrated with PTC's Pro/ENGINEER(r) Routed Systems Designer(tm), the DC analyser functionality of RSDSimulate provides programmable voltage and current sources combined with resistive and reactive load models to enable voltage margin analysis on interdependent circuits. In-line components such as fuses, diodes, switches and splices are also included.
And if you are interested in surge or in-rush currents and the dynamic behaviour of your harness, you can use the transient analysis capability of RSDSimulate to model the behaviour of reactive loads using inductor and capacitor models and a programmable voltage source. In-line components such as diodes, fuses and switches can also be modelled.
Your simulation session set-up can be stored in an external file for re-loading at a later date and your simulation results can either be stored in .txt or CSV file formats for further processing or printed directly from RSDSimulate.
